"This year, the moveable musical feast known as BreakOut West settled into Whitehorse for three days of great music making in Whitehorse, Yukon. The festival features the best of Western Canadian music culminating with an awards show - The Western Canadian Music Awards. The Liptonians gave a super tight, super compelling performance at the Old Firehall in Whitehorse during BreakOut West. "Winnipeg indie pop experimenters the Liptonians already caught our attention with the release of their album Let's All March Back Into the Sea earlier this year, and now they're pushing themselves further by announcing a one-off collaboration with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
The Liptonians will team up with the orchestra for a special Canada Day performance on July 1 at the Forks in Winnipeg. As a press release explains, "The band's music has been arranged to be backed by the WSO by Toronto's Charles Cozens, and will excitedly dart and dash around the musical staves as fireworks go off overhead."
